White spring tree in a winter forest, created for Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

Do you love browsing fanart inspired by your favorite books? Do you wish the stories could come to life before your eyes? With our overlay sheets, you can transform any book into an illustrated edition in the blink of an eye.

An overlay—also known as a book insert—is a digital illustration printed on tracing paper. Its special feature is the extremely thin, translucent paper that allows the text beneath to softly show through, especially behind lighter areas of the design. You can place the overlays between two pages; thanks to their delicate thickness, they fit seamlessly into glued bindings and won’t slip out easily.

If you’d rather not place it inside your book but still want to admire the artwork, you can frame it with a simple white sheet of paper. This way, it can decorate your bookshelf or even be used as wall art.

The illustrations are produced in a 138 × 207 mm size. If you have a smaller edition, simply trim one edge so it doesn’t extend beyond the pages.

This fanart was created for "Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries" by Heather Fawcett and depicts a white spring tree standing in a winter forest.
