An overlay—also commonly called a *book insert*—is a digital illustration printed on vellum paper. Its specialty lies in the very thin, translucent paper that allows the text behind it to peek through, especially behind the lighter parts of the design. You can place the overlays between two pages, and since they are very thin, they fit right into the glued binding and won't easily slide out.
If you prefer not to put them inside your book but still want to admire them, you can place them in a picture frame with a plain white sheet of paper behind them to decorate your bookshelf or even use them as wall art.
The illustrations are made in a **130×204 mm** size. If you have a smaller edition of the book, simply trim one of the edges to ensure it doesn't stick out.
